Today's Featured Computer Term: Gravesite
You're searching for information on the Internet and come across a website with the following: This site was last updated on June 3, 1997.
Doesn't look like the best place for good information, does it? Why do people abandon their sites? Could be any reason - they ran out of money, or maybe they just lost interest in it.
There is, however, a name these Web pages. They're called gravesites.
Usually, when a site builder can no longer maintain their website, they take it off the server; it's gone then, you wouldn't be able to visit it on the Internet. Sometimes, though, the site will remain accessible, though no more updates will be posted. This is more prevalent on the free servers, like geocities.com or stormpages, where you can put up a website for free.

Today's Topic: Double-Spacing Your Document
Sometimes you may want to print a document double-spaced. As you are writing, you probably will want to keep your document single-spaced so you can see more of it on the screen at a time. When you are ready to print, there is a quick way to double-space your document:
1. Save your document. 2. Choose Select All from the Edit menu. 3. Choose Paragraph from the Format menu. You will see the Paragraph dialog box. Notice that none of the fields are filled in. This is because you have selected the entire document, and no single paragraph setting applies to the entire document. 4. Choose Double in the Line Spacing box. 5. Click on OK. 6. Print your document. 7.Close your document without saving.
This last step is important. If you save your document before exiting, then the double spacing will be permanently saved with the document as well.
Important: In a double-spaced document, every paragraph must be indented. |
