Special Feature: Turn Screen Saver Off
Question: I would like to defrag my hard drive and the instructions say to turn off the screen saver. It does not say how. Could you help?
Answer: Right click on a blank area on the desktop. In the resulting menu, left click on Properties. This will open the Desktop Properties window. Click the Screen Saver tab at the top.
Beneath the words Screen Saver, you will see the name of the screen saver you are currently using. Click the small down arrow to the right of the name. A drop down list will open with the word None at the top. Click None. Click the OK button and the screen saver will be turned off.

Today's Topic: Send Website Link via Email
Question: Frequently I visit websites that I would like to forward on to someone. How can I do this?
Answer: There are several ways you can do this, depending on what browser and email you are using.
If you use Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook, go to the website you would like to send. Click File on the menu, point to Send and then click either Page by E-mail or Link by E-mail. Outlook will automatically open with an email message containing the website information. Type your message; address and send the email as usual.
If you use Internet Explorer and an email program other than Outlook, you can Copy and Paste the link into an email. To do so, go to the website you would like to send. Click the website address in the Address bar; note that it turns blue. Click Edit on the menu and then Copy. Type your message; address and send the email as usual.
If you are using America Online, go to the website you would like to send. Note the four small icons on the right side of the website window’s title bar. Rest the mouse pointer on the icon to see the name. Click on the Insert in Mail icon. This will open a Write Mail window containing the website information. Type your message; address and send the email as usual.

Question: Red Xs in Emails
I see red Xs where pictures should be in my email messages. What is causing this? And can I fix it?
Answer: The missing pictures are blocked by Outlook Express as a security feature to prevent viruses from attacking your computer.
You can change the settings in Outlook Express to let you see all the pictures. This will, of course, decrease your security, so be very careful to never open an email from someone you do not know.
To change the settings, click Tools on the menu and then Options. This will open the Options window; click the Security tab at the top. In the Download Images area of the window, click to uncheck the box next to Block images and other external content in HTML email. Click the OK button.
You will now see images in all emails that you open. Important: do not open messages from unknown or suspicious sources. Also, make sure that your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are up-to-date.
